At Down Dog Yoga, you will learn mindfulness and body mechanics through a therapeutic style of yoga.  This method of developing a yoga session is what creates a healing, sustainable, life-long practice for all levels!   This therapeutic method is based on the anatomy of the body, specifically related to lines of connective tissue (myofascial lines), which function to allow the body to move as one unit.   The intention of developing a therapeutic method for your yoga session is to strengthen and stretch each one of these lines so that they can properly perform their intended function. The inability of these lines to perform their functions create imbalances throughout the entire body.  A consistent practice with Kat, not only corrects these physical imbalances, but also eliminates stress, and promotes an overall feeling of health and well being.  Upon request, your private yoga lesson may also include pilates, cardio kickboxing, solid weight training, as well as suspension training.

Yoga for the Early Practitioner

Yoga for the Early Practitioner is a 60-minute private session that takes you through a mindful warm-up, followed by a set of flowing asanas (poses) to assess and improve alignment and focus on the foundations of yoga that we all need to be reminded of whether we are new yogis or advanced practitioners.  This is a great environment to ask questions and work on specific postures and body positions.

With private instruction, you can deepen your practice, increase your confidence, ask questions in a confidential environment and receive personalized guidance and hands-on adjustments tailored to your individual needs.  Private lessons are also a great way to break through those plateaus we all hit. The therapeutic method is highly individualized based on your body type,  current practice, and can focus on anything from foundational postures, to arm balances, inversions, and to building superior core strength.  Upon request, your private yoga lesson may also include pilates, cardio kickboxing, solid weight training, as well as suspension training.
