* * * DESCRIPTION OF OUR CLASSES * * *

BASIC ASHTANGA VINYASA:
A slower paced vinyasa flow class that is suitable for beginners and those looking for a gentler flow class. Each practice will provide a safe and basic understanding of sun-salutations, fundamental postures and breath awareness under the guidance of an attentive instructor. Based on the Ashtanga Vinyasa System.

MYSORE:
This is an open Ashtanga style yoga class for anyone who has taken a couple of basic Ashtanga classes with us. This self practice class, traditionally taught by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, is silent and meditative. Instructions and adjustments are given as necessary.

VINYASA YOGA:
Our Vinyasa yoga class is a dynamic form of yoga inspired mainly by ashtanga vinyasa yoga, but also by Iyengar and classical hatha yoga. In our vinyasa classes the instructor will link different asanas with breathwork, chanting and meditation.

AGNI MALA VINYASA:
This is a class designed to strengthen and condition the physical body and calm the mind with the help of ujjayi breath. Agni means fire and fire in wisdom traditions was connected with purifying, cleansing and illuminating the darkness. Like a blacksmith forging an iron sword this class will forge you, into a body of iron, a mind like Gandhi and a heart like the Buddha.

TRADITIONAL HATHA YOGA:
By using the science of the mind, breathing, asanas and meditation this class will help you create a union of mind, body and spirit. With this union our authentic brilliance is revealed. This class is excellent for beginners or those of you looking for a slower paced class.

TEMPERING THE MONKEY/TAOIST YOGA:
This Chinese yoga/qigong system is based on the 5 elements of Chinese Philosophy. We work through a simple yang (flow) set and with a deep Yin (passive)set. All classes include meditation.

SPIRITUAL WARRIOR YOGA:
This is a fun and very unique class that will challenge you. The class is a fusion of qigong and yoga and will help to balance the 5 elements of Chinese Medicine and the 7 chakras of Indian Yoga. The results will be a heart like the Buddha, a strong body like Hanuman and a mind like Gandhi or Lao Tzu.

JALA YAMUNA YIN YOGA:
A very deep and healing yin yoga class where you will move through your yin practice to music, chanting and other soothing sounds, all performed live. This class is highly meditative and will bring about a deep sense of healing. May also at times include guest musicians.

YIN YOGA:
Very gentle, slow and safe practice where we hold each posture for a long time with the muscles fully relaxed. This is a yoga practice that will gently stretch and rehabilitate the connective tissues that form our joints. Great for anyone looking for a very slow pace class, those of you with injuries or anyone with a more vigorous yoga practice looking for a more balanced approach to physical and mental health.

MANTRA YOGA:
Mantra is the original form of language, these "divine" sounds work on all aspects of our being. Through chanting mantra we come to realize our own divine nature.In this class we will learn the different aspects of mantra and how to incorporate them into our personal practice allowing us to still the mind and reach meditation. This is an experiential class with lots of chanting and singing the different names of god. Class offered 1st Wednesday of every month.
